Your 12-month-old may not meet every milestone listed here and still be progressing normally. Since each child is unique, your baby’s growth might be different from what's included here. Your baby might explore, figure things out and act in one or more of these ways:
Looks at correct picture when the image is named.
Imitates gestures, sounds and actions.
Begins to use objects correctly (drinking from cup, brushing hair).
Shows interest in a favorite story by listening and pointing.

Provide opportunities for your baby to be with children of all ages. Your toddler will have fun interacting with other children. Schedule frequent play dates with other children his age-this will help in his language development as well.
