Your baby is two-months-old! Learn what your baby can do at this age.
Babies develop at their own pace and each milestone shows a range of skills typically seen in children's development. Your two-month-old may not meet every milestone listed here and still be progressing normally. Since each child is unique, your baby’s growth might be different from what's included here. Your two-month-old might develop more quickly in some areas than in others. At the same time, if you have any concerns about your baby’s growth and development talk to your baby's health care provider or call 1-866-693-GROW to talk to a professional and find out ways in which you can get connected to various resources in Minnesota.

Milestones
Social and emotional development – means how children feel about themselves, how they behave and relate to others.
Your baby might respond to you and other familiar people in one or more of these ways:
Starts to develop a bond with you.
Develops a social smile.
Shows feelings and emotions by crying and smiling.
Parent Strategies
Understanding your child’s behavior and supporting your child’s positive relationships.
Your baby doesn’t have the words to tell you his needs and wants. Fussing, crying, smiling and laughing are the non-verbal means of communication at this age. Try and understand his needs to the best of your ability.
If he cries, try swaddling him, rocking him, singing to him or taking him for a walk outdoors.
