Title I school staff must work with the parents of children served under Title I to develop a school-parent compact. A compact is a written agreement between the school and parents. The compact identifies activities that the parents, school staff, and the students will perform to improve a child's academic achievement. The compact also describes what parents, staff and students will do to develop a partnership to help children meet state academic standards.
The school-parent compact must describe: the school's responsibilities to provide high-quality instruction, how parents will support their child's education, and the importance of communication between school and home.
You may call the school office to find out whether your child is participating in a Title I school program. The principal will know if your child participates in Title I and will be able to answer any questions.
